Green Screen Compositing

UCLA Extension Project

For my first project in the Intro to VFX class at UCLA Extension, I had to composite a green screen foreground subject against a background using After Effects.

I used various techniques including breaking down the actual keying into 2 parts, the head and the body, to get the most detail out of the hair without affecting the body (and vice-versa).

I then created a light wrap, added shadows, some haze, color graded and added some film noise for the finishing touch.   I used all the built in plugins in Adobe After Effects for keying including Keylight, Key Cleaner and Advanced Spill Suppressor.

Apps Used: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro
